salut..
so.. spent the whole day in Belfast today (that's the big place to us nornirish, tiddily widdily little place to the rest of the world) because it was QUB's open day and so it was compulsory to attend even though I have no desire to go there...
I guess I'll try to be chronological about the whole thing..
So alarm goes off at 7.30 (half hour lie in whoo!!)
*hits 'snooze'*
Alarm tries again at 7.40
*hits 'off*' [and when I say 'hits' I mean 'presses', 'hits' just sounds more dramatic. I'm not clever enough to be able to set my alarm clock so I just use my phone. Finding the correct button to press when two thirds asleep is quite a challenge]
*decides to lie in the bed for a few minutes... just because it's such a nice temperature*
*hears name being called*
8.20am
fvck.
so I rush around like a sloth on speed so I can be at my friend's house in 10 minutes.. it fails miserably.
8.50 - I rock up at my friend's house.
She's straightening her hair. phew..
9.00- We form our 2 car convoy and head off to the train station..
9.30- I get a call from friend B asking where friend A is as B was supposed to be picked up by A.
bugger.
9.35 - I leave my car at the station and we take the one car to the other town to pick up friend B from the bus. At this point we decide to drive up to Belfast instead of taking the train..
looks a bit like this, except with more stress ->

So we get to Queen's, after having to park miles away because all the usual space is gone. The law talk was full, and not about law but UCAS. so we leave that one and go to a politics one instead. Well, friendA does, I settle myself down on some handy seats and read an issue of 'Hot Press' that had conveniently been left on top of the photocopier. It's not that great a magazine.
Next, we go to talk to some French people with friendB. Of course they're not actually French this being Belfast and all.. but anyway.
We feel that the hour or so that we spent at the open day was long enough and we have a formal coming up.. so you know, we gotta dress shop. We see a shop called 'Posh Frocks'. Awesome! a shop like a can of Ronseal! [Does exactly what it says on the tin]. So we go in and I automatically feel like i should take off my shoes.. White carpets. Next thing is, we're hit by the sheer bead-iness of everything.. every single dress was covered in beads.. to the point of tackiness.. (was starting to doubt the ronseal idea). We persisted though.. And I found a dress, which is a major achievement for me. 'Cos y'know, dresses, me, nah... sorta like water and oil. So I go down, find out that it's half price (double score) and feel pretty chuffed.
Anyway by this point it's time to go.. So we get back to the car.. and onto the main road.. and as we're staring at the mass of traffic in front of us remember that it's 4pm on a Friday.
Balls.
So getting back to the other town took about an hour, everyone got really warm and tired and annoyed on the way there.
Then friendA and I had to go back to the train station to rescue my car from it's abandonment.. It gets lonely when left for too long..
So I then had to drive home complete with the normal 5.30 rush hour traffic.. Bum.
So what this all, rather longwindedly, equates to is me being very tired.. and yawning so hugely that it would cover a small country like this ->

And you know what? I have no idea why on earth I just typed all of that. I didn't mean to. I just meant to say I was tired. And that it probably isn't going to be helped by the 20km hike I'm doing tomorrow. My fingers ran away with me..
I apologise to anybody who actually reads this..
