Hmm.. podcrastination..

hey..
so seeing as i have finally FINALLY finished uni stuff.. (until interviews and aptitude tests and canadian applications) i thought i'd try to make a wee music mix..

of course i had no clue how to do this and still don't so i don't think any of it will work at all.. but oh well..

  • Clicky

I miss that shiny downtown whore..

did i say something about nearly being finished (m)ucas? i lied. it's never ending.. it's the application form form of a fibonacci sequence..

but at least my CSS album came so I can type in a rather funky time to that.. (am i the only person who types in time to whatever music is playing? yes? thought so)

mm yes.. so i am actually kinda sleepy.. and there's this thing on the telly in half an hour about the nuremberg trials that i should really watch.. so i guess i should go and get myself psyched up for that..

on a side note.. does anyone remember struwwelpeter? i do ^_^ i think i'm gonna try and find an online version of one of the poems to bring into English tomorrow for some unseen poetry... hehe...

    over and out captain..

If 'hello' could only drop its 'o'..

I think the end may be in sight.. my personal statement/uni applications may be nearly done and dusted.. [well, not dusted, cos i tend to not do that]. i still have a few things to iron out though, like whether i'm allowed 6 law choices or 4..

hmm.. it appears i seem to be in a housework-similie mood today.. =/

i just went on a mini amazon spending spree.. bought myself the css album and two law books.. [i was really shoppin' on the edge..] but yeah, i'm looking forward to many a drive spent blasting css through the speakers.. and not looking forward to many a night reading law books..

yeeeaaaas.... here's a question.. if i think i will instantaneously get food poisoning from Spar chicken, will i? you know, my brain will convince itself that i've contracted salmonella/e-coli and then i'll get all sick..
    ho hum..

i shall leave you with our idea of a very dangerous weapon... raw chicken... on a stick!

    20 KILLometers

    Good day...
So I decided to spend my Saturday doing a 20k hike through the Mournes [our excuse for mountains].
Maybe I should have paid more attention to the 'Challenge' bit of the 'Mournes Challenge Walk'. I think that since getting a car I have forgotten how to walk anywhere and how hard it is to walk long distances over non-concrete/tarmac terrain.. (peat bogs are real fun, honest).
So due to me being completely out of practice at this walking malarky, I managed to pull, or tear, or both, what feels like every muscle from the hips down.. Despite this, it actually was quite fun (^_^). The scenery was pretty, I got to wall surf (although technically I didn't really wall surf but hole-in-the-wall-surf) and what's more, fulfil my lifelong ambition of being in clouds! We also saw a falcon type thing having a fun time being blown about.. Though it wanted our eyes!
I climbed (well, moved so slowly that I wasn't quite sure if I was still going forwards) two out of a possible 3 mountains.. This was especially hard when you couldn't actually see where the top of the mountain was..

kinda like that ^ but more soul destroying..

Right now, I feel how I think it feels to be 80-odd.. shuffling around the place moaning about my aching bones and wincing every time i have to stand up or sit down..

With that, I'm gonna go make myself some cocoa (yes, I know it's only 6pm but still, cocoa doesn't have a clock) and sit here, listening to music and pondering whether to attempt to figure out how to play around with the equations of motion in such a way as to get the right answers to my maths questions... Jeez, that was a long sentence..

    Over and out Captain...

    Yawn

    salut..
so.. spent the whole day in Belfast today (that's the big place to us nornirish, tiddily widdily little place to the rest of the world) because it was QUB's open day and so it was compulsory to attend even though I have no desire to go there...
I guess I'll try to be chronological about the whole thing..
So alarm goes off at 7.30 (half hour lie in whoo!!)
    *hits 'snooze'*
    Alarm tries again at 7.40
*hits 'off*' [and when I say 'hits' I mean 'presses', 'hits' just sounds more dramatic. I'm not clever enough to be able to set my alarm clock so I just use my phone. Finding the correct button to press when two thirds asleep is quite a challenge]
*decides to lie in the bed for a few minutes... just because it's such a nice temperature*
    *hears name being called*
    8.20am
    fvck.

so I rush around like a sloth on speed so I can be at my friend's house in 10 minutes.. it fails miserably.
    8.50 - I rock up at my friend's house.
    She's straightening her hair. phew..

9.00- We form our 2 car convoy and head off to the train station..
9.30- I get a call from friend B asking where friend A is as B was supposed to be picked up by A.
    bugger.
9.35 - I leave my car at the station and we take the one car to the other town to pick up friend B from the bus. At this point we decide to drive up to Belfast instead of taking the train..
looks a bit like this, except with more stress ->

So we get to Queen's, after having to park miles away because all the usual space is gone. The law talk was full, and not about law but UCAS. so we leave that one and go to a politics one instead. Well, friendA does, I settle myself down on some handy seats and read an issue of 'Hot Press' that had conveniently been left on top of the photocopier. It's not that great a magazine.
Next, we go to talk to some French people with friendB. Of course they're not actually French this being Belfast and all.. but anyway.

We feel that the hour or so that we spent at the open day was long enough and we have a formal coming up.. so you know, we gotta dress shop. We see a shop called 'Posh Frocks'. Awesome! a shop like a can of Ronseal! [Does exactly what it says on the tin]. So we go in and I automatically feel like i should take off my shoes.. White carpets. Next thing is, we're hit by the sheer bead-iness of everything.. every single dress was covered in beads.. to the point of tackiness.. (was starting to doubt the ronseal idea). We persisted though.. And I found a dress, which is a major achievement for me. 'Cos y'know, dresses, me, nah... sorta like water and oil. So I go down, find out that it's half price (double score) and feel pretty chuffed.
Anyway by this point it's time to go.. So we get back to the car.. and onto the main road.. and as we're staring at the mass of traffic in front of us remember that it's 4pm on a Friday.
    Balls.
So getting back to the other town took about an hour, everyone got really warm and tired and annoyed on the way there.
Then friendA and I had to go back to the train station to rescue my car from it's abandonment.. It gets lonely when left for too long..

So I then had to drive home complete with the normal 5.30 rush hour traffic.. Bum.

So what this all, rather longwindedly, equates to is me being very tired.. and yawning so hugely that it would cover a small country like this ->

And you know what? I have no idea why on earth I just typed all of that. I didn't mean to. I just meant to say I was tired. And that it probably isn't going to be helped by the 20km hike I'm doing tomorrow. My fingers ran away with me..
I apologise to anybody who actually reads this..

    4000 characters

    Right.
I'm gonna grab this blog by the horns and give it another go... [that sounds quite suspect..heh.. i like it]
I figure it would look a bit like this ->

If the world was hand drawn on a computer by me..

So I guess I should say hello.. That would be what you're expecting though, so I'm not gunna! I should probably say something about myself but I'm not really good at doing that straight off with no prompts from anyone and I should know about this because I'm currently trying to whore myself out to universities via a personal statement. *shudders*. 4000 characters to sell yourself in. This is quite a challenge.. You have to write one statement for all the courses you want to take.. so it has to be versatile and inoffensive so that none of the admissions tutors dislike the style. And here's the problem.. it has to stick in the reader's mind so that they remember you and want you.. but you can't be funny, you can't be honest, you can't use normal language.. (in case someone doesn't like it) so you end up writing 4000 characters' worth of drivel. and it's not that it's bad.. it's just monotonous.. I'm pretty sure that every other law applicant to the top universities has done 8 weeks work experience with a law firm, was head boy/girl of their school, did a duke of edinburgh's award, played a sport for school, participated in the Bar National Mock Trial and finds law 'absolutely fascinating' and the impact that it has on society 'astounding' ..

Not that I'm at all cynical.
Anyway, I was saying something before getting caught on the whole personal statement track... oh yeah.. basically.. I'm not gonna explain things very effectively. Enjoy (^_^)

So.. I'm trying to think of anything interesting at all that has happened recently.. Not much has. I'm not that great at this blog stuff..

Guess I'll just wander on.. rambling away... but i'm sure that's enough for now.. Maybe the next one will make more sense..

Yet another piece of obsolete cyber space..

Yeah, right now, I'm enthusiastic. Tomorrow I probably won't be. I give myself a week to forget about this place..
Which is rather sad if I think about it.. Maybe I'll try harder this time..

This is really just a test post anyway, so that I can preview things....

    I feel bad..
