[Reset]

So...
Guess what I did today..
I reset myself..

I was washing a few dishes in the local coffee shop.. and I.. fainted/collapsed/fell over..
it was nice.
Until I woke up..
Then it was embarrassing.

But the little bit of time where I was unconscious was great.. I was having a right wee time in my little musical land.. It was all comfy and warm and everything was in song and made sense.. and it felt like it had been going on forever..
Is it normal for your sense of time to go completely out the window? When I came to it was all freaky.. like I had no idea of how long I'd been away flying in fairyland for and the last thing I remember was drying a frying pan.. (yes I woke up still wearing pink marigolds.. SCHEEXAAAY..)
so yes.
That is my experience for the day..

In other news, due to me being forced to lie in bed all day, I have started to re-read Eragon and I have come to the conclusion (yet again) that I would quite like a dragon.
So if anyone feels like getting me one.. please do.
I would settle for a Northern Lights style Daemon, as long as it kept its shape changing ability..

And I also watched so many films it's insane.. Sinbad the sailor (I think), Nightmare before Christmas, Twins, Gremlins.. don't you love Xmas TV??

God rest ye merry gentleguys..

*tips hat*

Hullo...
*cough cough*
guess what that means?
Yep, I've got a cough. Well a cough combined with killer throat and annoying nose and pressured sinuses..
and this is like what, the first day I'm off for Christmess? Indeed it is..

This is what I get for going to Church... I'll tell the boring story, it's quick.
So sitting in assembly and teacher comes up and asks if anyone isn't in the choir, which of course I'm not.. We get the job of ushering the Carol Service.. I figure it'll be ok, I've never taken a collection before..
Anyhoo. It happens to be the coldest doorway that I've ever had the misfortune to have to stand, smile and hand out programmes in. On the coldest, foggiest night in a couple of years.. (actually it wasn't the coldest but the fog made it seem so.. ) adn now.. I'm spluttering all over the place and want to go to bed but know that if I do I will have a less than sleepful night.. aand I said I would help out in the local coffee shop tomorrow.. Blast.

I moan too much don't I?

The Carol Service was AMAZING though.. Did anybody see that programme on BBC2, 'The Choir' ? You know, the school choir who got to the Choir Olympics in China despite being utterly woeful? Think Sister Act 2, without Whoopi and assorted nuns/monks and the astonishingly tuneful ending.. Yeah..

Hmm, you can tell this an attempt to keep me awake until a realtively normal hour to go and fall into bed can't you?
Maybe I'll go and draw something on inkscapey..

[insert a few minutes here]

aand there we go.. some time killed..

I was just wondering... you know the word 'thorough' ? well do you pronounce it 'thur-ah' or 'thur-oh' ?
just 'cos it sounded funny when someone said it on mythbusters earlier..

Mm I love Bright Eyes' version of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen..

I think I'll just fall over right here, right now.. This isn't going anywhere interesting for anybody...
and now my bro is calling me..

In the rough

Hmmmm 'lo..

Somedayayayayeah love will find me in the rough.. somedayayayeah love will finally be enough...
ahem, sorry.. I get carried away with the old songs..

I should really be listening to Christmess music shouldn't I? It being a week away and all....

BUM

I have no Christmas presents. And by that I mean I haven't bought any for anyone.. and actually, I haven't received any either but that's not the panic point..

That means I'm going to have to shop again doesn't it?

I dislike pressurized panic shopping.. here are a few reasons:
-> I end up buying impersonal shite. I hate giving people presents that don't mean anything. Hate it..
-> I get grumpy really easily, remember the sentiments expressed when I went shopping a month ago? Imagine that, tenfold.
-> To add to the grumpiness, shopping makes me hungry. Me + Hunger = GRUMPx10^26. I can't stress that enough.
-> I have to listen to the same Christmess songs over and over and over... none of them are ever the ones I even remotely like.
-> I end up feeling so far removed from joviality that I forget why I'm even doing Christmess.

But I will do it all anyway, because I would suck if I didn't.. Next year I think I will grab my family and whoever else wants to be grabbed (oi oi!) and go somewhere remote..

Anyhoo...

So yeah.. I was reading someone else's bloggg, and it was brought to my notice that there is some nifty little thing which churns out satistics about your webpage.. Now there is absolutely no point in me having one of these, there wouldn't really be anything to statistisize.. (? is that a word? It is now. why? because much like pure maths, I say so.. ) but I would like to have one regardless..
Except...
I can't work the javacode. Because I'm useless with it.. I did what it said.. but then Bloggy said I had to fix the error in the form.. Which I can't as I don't speak java.. I do drink it though.. but mentioning that probably wouldn't help..

so yeeaaaaaahhhhhhhh...

I'm going to meet my old Art teacher for coffee tomorrow morning.. Wheeeeee! I love 'Art trips'..
Ahem.
Yet again this has turned into something I didn't really intend it to.. So I'm just gonna stop..

~ Over and curled up inside..

hmm..

Once upon a time there was a girl..

Who had a blogger account..

but she never really knew what to say..

so she never really said much...

aaah... it's been a small while.. nothing major has happened.. went to cambridge for my interview, although I didn't die, I don't think I'll get any sort of offer.. did a physics mock.. got 55%.. oh dear.. ordered some albums from amazon because they very kindly gave me a 15% off music voucher.. and I really can't think of anything else interesting to talk about..

I had some good talk in school today, how sheep are evil, how some people assume irish people speak irish and scottish people, scottish... oh and how ridiculous that section 75 malarky is. and we talked about this new jack the ripper that's emerging...

now, gordon's kitchen nightmares is on...

Switch...?

yellow...

What's this about a new blogger that I should switch to?
I'm cagey about new versions...
And why does it need me to have a g-mail account?
I mean, I have one and everything.. but I don't use it much.. and why does bloggy want it?

Hmm.. I just had the weirdest mental vision of my blog being like Gollum.. "Bloggy wants the g-mail.. it is Bloggy's preeeccccioussssss"

Ahem.

Not quite sure how to recover from that little tangent..

Have a picture!

I'll probably have to remove that in a while.. Or else I'll end up tearing my own eyes out..

AAAAAAAAAAGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH ::exclaim!:: ::exclaim!::

I have an interview this week...

I don't really do interviews... This voice of mine does not do well volume or clarity wise.. and there's all those 'um's, 'er's and the curséd 'like's ..kill me now =(
Oh and there's the small fact that I can't really think when asked.
Massacre me now..

but not actually.. cos that wouldn't be very nice =(

yeeeeeeees... I am going to go and relax by browsing the cyberweb mindlessly..

Shapping *dies*

hello..*cough, splutter, cough, cough*

It is Monday.
It is supposed to be new Incubus day.. but the postman clearly doesn't love me. *sniff*

Anyhooo...

I had an adventure on Saturgay.. I.. went... shopping... in Belfast...

*ping!*
Bad Idea!

Honestly, there should NOT be that many people in Belfast.. this is a miniscule country... where did they all crawl out from?
And it probably would have been fine, had half of the people not been wielding PRAMS. And you know what else bugs me? that most of the prams were EMPTY.
Why?!
Like, really.. what, woman, is possessing you to wander aimlessly around these narrows shops and streets with an oversized kid carrier? without a kid?
oh wait... is that him over there? yeah the one who has just dropped his drink? or how about that one, screaming that she has to have that Bratz™ doll?
And really, do you have to stand blocking one of the major aisles chatting to your friend who lives a few streets away?

As you may be able to tell.. I am rather embittered by my experience.. The day started well, had a good ole' 'chicken tikka and chilli cream cheese on a granary roll please' and it filled me up nicely. So I wasn't grumpy from hunger.. Got to the continental market.. couldn't find the churros.. *minor sadness* but then we hit the proper Belfast streets..

Topshop was ick.
River Island was even worse (it only has one floor so is way more pram-friendly)
Next was ok, once you got to the third floor (home dept.). We sat on the super-comfy display sofas for a while and I got some sexy black and white sheets...

So following this was way more having to stand for 5 mins trying to get past someone chatting to doreen from down the road. I mean.. ok.. if you want to chat that's fine.. but do it out of the way.. so that people like me, who just want in and out as quickly as possible (eey... pure mind now..) can do so..

But by the end of the day, I discovered that everything I needed to buy was much more available in a much less crowded place, much closer to home..

Bum.

So that's the bitterness over..

oh no wait..

I GOT SICK..

from shopping. yep. directly from the verb.

My throat was being all sore by the end of the day.. and now I'm all blocked up and scratchy throated and headachey..

Now I've finished being bitter..

Good monday anyone?

~Over and.. ow my throat.. =(

new, brand new..

mmmyaaay...

I gots me my shi-.. well, it's pretty matt actually, new brand new album in the post today ^_^
it's nice so far.. I'm liking it. I'm liking it a lot..

so today's happenings-

*Nearly weirded out for the second time in English this week.. explanation will follow..
*Started painting the set for the play.. it was fun.. 7 people in a small room with no windows and 6 open tins of paint.. fumes ahoy? oh yes.. they were ahoy alright..
*well jesus christ I'm alone again, so what did you do those three days you were dead? cos this problem's gonna last more than the weekend.. did I mention the brand new brand new? did you notice I enjoy repetitive phrases?
*I learnt how to figure out how much of the world there is.
*I ran out of brownies =(

Being Weirded Out In English
So we're reading The Rape Of The Lock at the moment.. which was good enough for starters.. but then yesterday we got to this bit about the Cave of Spleen..yes that's right,
The Cave of SPLEEN [I quite like the word spleen. It sounds good]
So in this cave, people have crazy hallucinations and think they're things they're not, eg. a goose pie. which is fair enough as is the line, ' And maids turn'd bottles'... BUT THEN..
you read on..
and the full line turns out to be:
"And maids turn'd bottles, call aloud for corks.'
Which.. may sound fine to innocents.. but my English Teacher then confirms that, yes, it IS innuendo.. And what's more it is intended innuendo.. Pope knew what he was doing when he put that in there.. not like 'nosegay'..
Shocking.

But wait! There's more!
Today..
we got to the bit where her hair has been raped, and she's all sad and decides to say,
'Oh hadst thou, cruel! been content to seize
Hairs less in sight, or any hairs but these'

Now, you may just be thinking.. as I told myself she must have meant, that she was talking about other hairs on her head..
Oh no..
No,
She wasn't.

...

uh huh...

So I get easily weirded out when books are actually saying the things I was thinking humorously to myself..

And with that badly retold story...

~Over and cut off Cap'n..

blood red

just another number of songs, arranged one after the other with no skill for you to listen to, if you choose..

Songs, arranged one after the other with no skill:
Coheed- Blood red summer (acoustic)
Josh Burnside - Whatyouknewcouldnot..
TV on the radio -Wolf like me
Black Bud- Heartbeat
The spill canvas - Polygraph! right now
Tegan und Sara - This is everything
Cursive - Art is hard
Silverchair - Without you
Harry Nillson - one is the loneliest number
Katie Melua - Crawling up a hill

So this working week ended with my formal.. it was good, just not the fairytale experience the hype surrounding it would have suggested. Drinks were costly, thank god for the champagne in the limo.. a FIVER for malibu/vodka and coke was a bit too much for my poor kid self.. I am used to £2 a drink thank-you-very-much.. aaand the cheapest bottle of wine was £16 and tasted £3 tesco quality...

Speaking of wine.. I am drinking some mighty fine kangaroo point cabernet merlot.. you drink it chilled and I like.. I like very much..

!HIGH FIVE!

but yes.. highlight of my formal night must have been me dancing barefoot in mynt.. and when I say dancing I really mean mocking the music and its associated style of dancing (big fish, little fish, cardboard box anybody?)

hmm.. that is all I can think of typing right now..

~ Under and in sir..

p.s. As a result of said formal, I now know how to disguise myself beyond recognition.. I just have to put my hair up and a dress on and !bam! not even the people who sit beside my in my classes recognise me.. MI6 here I come..score..

  • apart from that..
another thing which has brightened my day:
having an inspector in English.. You've heard what goes on (well no, you probably haven't listened but..meh) in my English class.. trying to be 'serious' was hilarious. especially when the word...

    ..wait for it...

    NOSEGAY

    came up.

and with that.. I leave you.. nothing beats nosegay and JT in pastry terms..

in other news.. i found the ad on youtube that i previously couldn't.. the drinkin' and a-drivin' one.. where the car exploded through the fence...? yeah. here..

    so..

yeah i think i'm gonna make another wee mix sometime soon.. whenever there's something i really don't want to do..

    for now, there's youtube.. ^_^

    Miserable Music in two parts..

yes so.. did everyone remember remember the 5th novemember, gunpowder, treason and plot?
i see no reason why it should be forgot but.. there might be a few out there who were preoccupied..

    Here's the scientific part...*loreal grin*

So I've felt a bit sad recently.. so I did what all norm-.. what all music geeks do (I hope) and made a wee playlist. except it turned into a 40 song long playlist. And as I have nothing of interest to talk about yet was bored enough to tackle audacity I turned the 40 song playlist into two 20 song music-cast things. And due to my recent sad state, the songs all have a wee bit of a sad side to them..
    So there we go...

    *loreal hair flick*

    listen*, because you're worth it..

Click here to get your own player.

*of course they're not actually up on podmatic yet..[podomatic doesn't like uploading one thing while audacity exports another] but they should be up in time for any lone wanderer who happens to be foolishly curious...

so yes.. I was just a tad depressed today, so I grabbed a paintbrush to see what would happen..
here is the result in various stages (yaay pictures!!)

i don't really have anything else to say..
and Have I Got News For You is on.. followed by QI..

    Sunday, October 29, 2006

    *sniff*

    ahoy there...
I made a crappity podcast.. I think you can even hear my mucas talking. mmm.

so yes it is very rambley and not really about anything. at all. one day i'll have subject matter. one day....

and there are some long pauses. aaand the opening may be a little quiet. but hey ho..

Here is the Polysics video I give a little mention to:

I don't have a clue what's going on in it or the song, but I don't think I want to. Would spoil it.. perhaps.

Yeah so I think I'm gonna replace this with a better one this week if I have time..

    Music innit:
    Los Abandoned - Stalk U
Polysics - Electric Surfin' Go Go
Fall Out Boy - What's This?
Marilyn Manson - This is Hallowe'en
    The Arcade Fire - Maps
The Magic Numbers - Crazy In Love
    The Kooks - Crazy
Apples in Stereo - Signal in the Sky
The Film - Can You Trust Me?
    Styrofoam - Misguided
Linkin Park vs Britney Spears - Faint Toxic

    Misplaced day

    Cap'n.

"Would anybody who finds a misplaced Thursday please return it at once. Thank you."

So. I am confused. It is Friday today. Except it isn't, it's Thursday.
To explain my situation somewhat -
Tomorrow is the last day of school before half term. So it's a half day. But Fridays are always half days so the teachers who teach on Friday afternoons get really pissed off 'cos we always miss them.
    *Ah ha! Idea!*
Let's have Friday on a Thursday and Thursday on a Friday!

    Simple.
    Not.
It has messed my head up.. I now fully believe it is Friday. And am expecting QI, Have I Got News For You etc to be on and me not having to get up in the morning.
You'd think I could cope with this simple timetable change but nooo... And then there were other problems like, is first form assembly on? do I have mentoring this morning? do I have to do my prefect duty?
But all the notes in the roll books were fun- 'Would anyone involved in blah blah blah please come to room blah at blah on Thursday.. I mean Friday. On Thursday. Yes.'
So today I have lost a day.. As far as I'm concerned tomorrow is Saturday. But then I will have gained a day.

Would anybody else have this much of a problem over swapping a timetable round? probably not.

On a plusser side I overheard some good snippets of conversation today ^^

    ~O'er and Out..

    *cough*

    yeeeoooo.....

i was really bored.. so created something really crap in audio form. i really am a complete muppet.
i'm hoping the player thing will update when i update..

    music:
    [mighty boosh]
new york pony club - the get go
    ash - burn baby burn
wolf parade - i'll believe in anything
cha' mone! - thriller [anybody see bo! in the usa btw??]
place-bo - running up that hill
    queen - bicycle
bonnie tyler - total eclipse of the heart
    stacie orrico - stuck

I talk about nothing this time.. i might take this down in a few hours/days and do a new one.. just for my own satisfaction.. *images of women with powertools doing completely pointless tasks come into head* aaaaggggh... what an annoying video.
    see?
that's an example of what my mind is doing to me tonight.. except that was actually of a higher standard than the rest.. ho hum...

    LDETH

So... today I sat the LNAT thing. [henceforth to be known as LDETH]
    It was horrible.

Thing is, I need it for 4 out of 6 uni choices (and I suspect the other 2 will have a wee peek at it too..)

    BUM

In other news, today is, was and will be wednesday. That means it's all downhill from here.
    *straps on rollerskates*
yes.. rollerskates.. nothin' else gutter buddies..

So basically, I've spent the last wee while doing American SAT/LSAT questions instead of my actual homeworks in the vain hope that they'd prepare me for the LDETH.. Those high school kids (or whoever takes SATs and stuff in America) get it easy(er) I tell ya..! But yeah, I haven't done any of my long term homeworks for the past while.. and they just so happen to ALL be due tomorrow..

    BALLS

So, of course, I am sitting here instead of doing binomial expansions (to the power of negative fractions and the like), essay plans and mock exhibition work.

    See the logic?
And that gentlepeeps is why I don't examine well..

    ~Over und out..

    Music:
yeah yeah yeahs - rich (live)
the postal service - there's never enough time
help she can't swim - are you feeling fashionable?
cursive - hymns for the heathen
emily haines - nothing and nowhere

    Friday, October 13, 2006

    Ahem...

    mo-jo...
so tonight, i decided that instead of watching have i got news for you, i would make some comedy of my own.. consisting of me trying to talk in a podcast. oh ho ho.. the hilarity.. here are some things i've learnt:
    - My voice is weird.. it does not sound the same in my head.
    - I repeat the same words over and over, in very quick succession.
    - I pause. And make facial expressions. Quite why I do this is unknown to me as micro-ho-phones don't record facial expressions.
    - I run out of things to say real quick.
    - I am quite Americanised.
    - I'm not very good at explaining things.
    - It is imppossible for me to follow a logical train of thought.
    - I'm not very good at talking. Verbal vomiting all over the keyboard..
    - Talking takes a long time.
    - I sound really kinda stupid.
    - I don't have good one sided conversation.

Music I used to try and divert attention from my waffling:
(bit of) The Mighty Boosh- Ep. 3 Jazz B
White Rose Movement - Love is a Number
    The Subways - Oh Yeah
Help She Can't Swim - What Would Morrissey Say?
Ash - Girl From Mars (or Ards)
The Motorettes - Go Go Gadget Girl
Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly - Whitewash is Brainwash
Flanders & Swann - The Gas Man Cometh
Emily Haines & the Soft Skeleton - The Last Page
The Wombats -Moving to New York

I did want to play some Patrick Wolf but seemingly, when I buy a song from iTunes, I don't actually buy the song itself.. so it doesn't like pimping itself onto podcasts..

and here are the adverts I talked about..
Don't forget your seat belt/ not to drink/ not to speed

    the northern irish one..

    the belgian one

    funny one

    freaky kid one

    oz not so graphic one

one that played in cinemas.. confused me til the end.

    recent UK one..

    and just because it's cool...

and I have a suspicion my computer may explode with me trying to post that lot..

so i'll let it try now..

    over and out sir

[edit] Okay so, that little kid isn't called Sarah, I clearly just made that up.. maybe because she looks like a sarah. who knows..
and it appears podomatic have nifty embedded players I didn't know about.. so now.. I should have some podcasts embedded somewhere..

    White rose movement

    *nods* Cap'n..

    thar she blows!

I don't quite know the meaning behind that piratey outburst..

    So it's a tuesday.
    'Why is it only Tuesday?'
'We have always have this conversation, every week you know.'
'Yeah.. that's because every week it's always only bloody Tuesday!'

That was a nice little bit of one of my conversations today..

I was gonna ramble about something... oh well. May as well ramble randomly as opposed to the scheduled programming..

I was sitting on youtube last night wondering what I could look up and I remembered someone telling me that N.Irish road safety ads are really harsh by other countries' standards... So I decided to have a wee looksee.. but I could only find the English/UK-wide ones, one American one, one Australian one and two French ones.. and I couldn't even find the whole range of N.I's ones.. =(
So I think I'm gonna investigate this further.. And if I ever fix my voice enough to be able to talk about it, I think I will.. A disproportionate amount of my knowledge and memory is spent on adverts, so I may as well talk about them sometime..

In other news, I am growing to dislike dynamics. Aaaaand... I just watched the first ep of Heroes and *whimper* I want more! I used to dream of having a superpower.. or discovering I had one.. and the colours in it are so pretty..

We watched a bit of the Age of Innocence in English today... it's weird... If I wasn't reading the book I'd be convinced it was a murder conspiracy (in fact.. I still think it might be).. Archer, Ellen and Letterblair all consorting darkly... giving knowing looks to each other.. and the strange, psychotic speech...

Sometimes I wonder why I can't really concentrate and looking back over this, it seems to be because my brain enjoys jumping around from one tangent to another... all day long...

I have a birthday card to make...

    so over and in cap'n..

    Music:
White rose movement - love is a number
Flyleaf - I can feel you all around me
    Silverchair - paint pastel princess
    lovers - Oh silent night
Beach boys - fun fun fun
Operation impact - attack of the emo robots
Camera obscura - shine like a new pin
    Lily Allen -Cheryl Tweedy
    Pete Murray - lines
    Aerosmith - pink
    The Dykeenies - dark time
White rose movement - idiot drugs

    Take 2

    mello....

so I decided to have another go making a little musical mix.. 'cos it's quite theraputic..
And without further ado.. here it is..

  • mm.. Tap dat mouse!

  • I was watchin' a movie on tv last night, it seemed really surreal.. there was Gwyneth Paltrow and Mike Myers and air hostesses..

    and Cleveland.

I think I was too asleep to make proper sense of it (if any were to be made).. like.. you know when you get a text in the middle of the night, and you manage to read it and understand it (and sometimes reply) but in the morning, you don't remember a thing, or if you do, are sure it was a dream? well that's how I feel about this film.. I'm feeling an urge to nip over to imdb but I have too many windows open.. I'll leave it to my wonder for a while..

According to podomatic I have 16 mins to wait before my thing is uploaded, and so 16 minutes to waffle. If it's an accurate timer.. And as it's just gone upto 23mins, I'm guessing it's not..

    So...
    Come here often?

    Rar..

AH! Ok, I shall vent about the most recent distraughtness I can think of..
On fritag, we found out that the Bar Mock Trial thingy is gonna be on saturday 18th nov. hmm.. yeah.. ok...

    no.

    wait..

    AAARHGHHAGTHAGHTAGHAD!!

Our formal is on the 17th!

-I am planning to be... rather off my face...
there's the formal, and then the after formal, dans mint til some early hour, and then breakfast.
-this does not bode well for turning up IN COURT at 9am and having to be all composed and barristery.

Although I have to admit, the thought of me turning up in my formal dress, smudgy makeup, pished, and trying to argue some cases in front of a proper judge is an amusing one..

    No?

Robin Hood started tonight, and I missed it. Ragin'!

This is taking aaages... but actually, I don't think it matters. so I'll just post this cos I don't think anyone looks..

    (±_±)

a pinch, punch, first of the month!

    (I think that's it anyway)

hmm.. I wonder if that's a well-known thing or just another excuse for my friends to assault me..
the current list is as follows:
It being the first of the month [pinch and punch]
    seeing a mini [nip]
    seeing a yellow car [slap]
seeing a yellow mini [nip and slap]
seeing a vintage car [flick on the nose]
saying I don't really get Lost (the tv programme, I get physically lost quite often) [hit]
saying that JT doesn't sound like JT on his latest song [free for all]

you know the one thing I hate about Sunday evenings? that Monday morning is right after them. I *really* don't like Monday mornings.. or Mondays in general. I think I dislike them even more than Bob Geldof does.. I don't hate them 'cos that would be mean.. and really, it's just because Monday happens to be after the weekend nothing else..

and with that.. I'm gonna go and make myself some cocoa and mutter bitterly about having to wake up to a whole new week..

I miss that shiny downtown whore..

did i say something about nearly being finished (m)ucas? i lied. it's never ending.. it's the application form form of a fibonacci sequence..

but at least my CSS album came so I can type in a rather funky time to that.. (am i the only person who types in time to whatever music is playing? yes? thought so)

mm yes.. so i am actually kinda sleepy.. and there's this thing on the telly in half an hour about the nuremberg trials that i should really watch.. so i guess i should go and get myself psyched up for that..

on a side note.. does anyone remember struwwelpeter? i do ^_^ i think i'm gonna try and find an online version of one of the poems to bring into English tomorrow for some unseen poetry... hehe...

    over and out captain..

If 'hello' could only drop its 'o'..

I think the end may be in sight.. my personal statement/uni applications may be nearly done and dusted.. [well, not dusted, cos i tend to not do that]. i still have a few things to iron out though, like whether i'm allowed 6 law choices or 4..

hmm.. it appears i seem to be in a housework-similie mood today.. =/

i just went on a mini amazon spending spree.. bought myself the css album and two law books.. [i was really shoppin' on the edge..] but yeah, i'm looking forward to many a drive spent blasting css through the speakers.. and not looking forward to many a night reading law books..

yeeeaaaas.... here's a question.. if i think i will instantaneously get food poisoning from Spar chicken, will i? you know, my brain will convince itself that i've contracted salmonella/e-coli and then i'll get all sick..
    ho hum..

i shall leave you with our idea of a very dangerous weapon... raw chicken... on a stick!

    20 KILLometers

    Good day...
So I decided to spend my Saturday doing a 20k hike through the Mournes [our excuse for mountains].
Maybe I should have paid more attention to the 'Challenge' bit of the 'Mournes Challenge Walk'. I think that since getting a car I have forgotten how to walk anywhere and how hard it is to walk long distances over non-concrete/tarmac terrain.. (peat bogs are real fun, honest).
So due to me being completely out of practice at this walking malarky, I managed to pull, or tear, or both, what feels like every muscle from the hips down.. Despite this, it actually was quite fun (^_^). The scenery was pretty, I got to wall surf (although technically I didn't really wall surf but hole-in-the-wall-surf) and what's more, fulfil my lifelong ambition of being in clouds! We also saw a falcon type thing having a fun time being blown about.. Though it wanted our eyes!
I climbed (well, moved so slowly that I wasn't quite sure if I was still going forwards) two out of a possible 3 mountains.. This was especially hard when you couldn't actually see where the top of the mountain was..

kinda like that ^ but more soul destroying..

Right now, I feel how I think it feels to be 80-odd.. shuffling around the place moaning about my aching bones and wincing every time i have to stand up or sit down..

With that, I'm gonna go make myself some cocoa (yes, I know it's only 6pm but still, cocoa doesn't have a clock) and sit here, listening to music and pondering whether to attempt to figure out how to play around with the equations of motion in such a way as to get the right answers to my maths questions... Jeez, that was a long sentence..

    Over and out Captain...

    Yawn

    salut..
so.. spent the whole day in Belfast today (that's the big place to us nornirish, tiddily widdily little place to the rest of the world) because it was QUB's open day and so it was compulsory to attend even though I have no desire to go there...
I guess I'll try to be chronological about the whole thing..
So alarm goes off at 7.30 (half hour lie in whoo!!)
    *hits 'snooze'*
    Alarm tries again at 7.40
*hits 'off*' [and when I say 'hits' I mean 'presses', 'hits' just sounds more dramatic. I'm not clever enough to be able to set my alarm clock so I just use my phone. Finding the correct button to press when two thirds asleep is quite a challenge]
*decides to lie in the bed for a few minutes... just because it's such a nice temperature*
    *hears name being called*
    8.20am
    fvck.

so I rush around like a sloth on speed so I can be at my friend's house in 10 minutes.. it fails miserably.
    8.50 - I rock up at my friend's house.
    She's straightening her hair. phew..

9.00- We form our 2 car convoy and head off to the train station..
9.30- I get a call from friend B asking where friend A is as B was supposed to be picked up by A.
    bugger.
9.35 - I leave my car at the station and we take the one car to the other town to pick up friend B from the bus. At this point we decide to drive up to Belfast instead of taking the train..
looks a bit like this, except with more stress ->

So we get to Queen's, after having to park miles away because all the usual space is gone. The law talk was full, and not about law but UCAS. so we leave that one and go to a politics one instead. Well, friendA does, I settle myself down on some handy seats and read an issue of 'Hot Press' that had conveniently been left on top of the photocopier. It's not that great a magazine.
Next, we go to talk to some French people with friendB. Of course they're not actually French this being Belfast and all.. but anyway.

We feel that the hour or so that we spent at the open day was long enough and we have a formal coming up.. so you know, we gotta dress shop. We see a shop called 'Posh Frocks'. Awesome! a shop like a can of Ronseal! [Does exactly what it says on the tin]. So we go in and I automatically feel like i should take off my shoes.. White carpets. Next thing is, we're hit by the sheer bead-iness of everything.. every single dress was covered in beads.. to the point of tackiness.. (was starting to doubt the ronseal idea). We persisted though.. And I found a dress, which is a major achievement for me. 'Cos y'know, dresses, me, nah... sorta like water and oil. So I go down, find out that it's half price (double score) and feel pretty chuffed.
Anyway by this point it's time to go.. So we get back to the car.. and onto the main road.. and as we're staring at the mass of traffic in front of us remember that it's 4pm on a Friday.
    Balls.
So getting back to the other town took about an hour, everyone got really warm and tired and annoyed on the way there.
Then friendA and I had to go back to the train station to rescue my car from it's abandonment.. It gets lonely when left for too long..

So I then had to drive home complete with the normal 5.30 rush hour traffic.. Bum.

So what this all, rather longwindedly, equates to is me being very tired.. and yawning so hugely that it would cover a small country like this ->

And you know what? I have no idea why on earth I just typed all of that. I didn't mean to. I just meant to say I was tired. And that it probably isn't going to be helped by the 20km hike I'm doing tomorrow. My fingers ran away with me..
I apologise to anybody who actually reads this..

    4000 characters

    Right.
I'm gonna grab this blog by the horns and give it another go... [that sounds quite suspect..heh.. i like it]
I figure it would look a bit like this ->

If the world was hand drawn on a computer by me..

So I guess I should say hello.. That would be what you're expecting though, so I'm not gunna! I should probably say something about myself but I'm not really good at doing that straight off with no prompts from anyone and I should know about this because I'm currently trying to whore myself out to universities via a personal statement. *shudders*. 4000 characters to sell yourself in. This is quite a challenge.. You have to write one statement for all the courses you want to take.. so it has to be versatile and inoffensive so that none of the admissions tutors dislike the style. And here's the problem.. it has to stick in the reader's mind so that they remember you and want you.. but you can't be funny, you can't be honest, you can't use normal language.. (in case someone doesn't like it) so you end up writing 4000 characters' worth of drivel. and it's not that it's bad.. it's just monotonous.. I'm pretty sure that every other law applicant to the top universities has done 8 weeks work experience with a law firm, was head boy/girl of their school, did a duke of edinburgh's award, played a sport for school, participated in the Bar National Mock Trial and finds law 'absolutely fascinating' and the impact that it has on society 'astounding' ..

Not that I'm at all cynical.
Anyway, I was saying something before getting caught on the whole personal statement track... oh yeah.. basically.. I'm not gonna explain things very effectively. Enjoy (^_^)

So.. I'm trying to think of anything interesting at all that has happened recently.. Not much has. I'm not that great at this blog stuff..

Guess I'll just wander on.. rambling away... but i'm sure that's enough for now.. Maybe the next one will make more sense..

Yet another piece of obsolete cyber space..

Yeah, right now, I'm enthusiastic. Tomorrow I probably won't be. I give myself a week to forget about this place..
Which is rather sad if I think about it.. Maybe I'll try harder this time..

This is really just a test post anyway, so that I can preview things....

    I feel bad..
