Goodstuffs.
Anyway. On to today's irritation.
There's been a lot of stuff in the news recently about how terrible the NHS is, and how awesome the American system is. I realise that this is mostly coming from America, where the debate is raging. But I Just. Don't. Get. It.
How can something that treats everyone be worse than nothing?
Sitch A) Person X needs some medical care. Has no insurance. Doesn't come under medicare or medicaid. Person X dies. Person Y needs some medical care. Has insurance. Gets treated. Person Y lives.
Sitch B) Person X needs some medical care. Has no insurance. Gets treated. Person X lives. Person Y needs medical care. Has insurance. Gets treated. Person Y lives.
What is so bad about having more people live?
Can someone explain what I'm missing? Because I'm sure I must be missing some crucial point. And I will admit that I am not very well read on the American Healthcare system.
I don't see why the people who pay for their treatment cannot continue to do so.
The Republican guy they had on newsnight last night completely dodged all the difficult questions fired at him.
So what is it?
Someone spell it out..
